Welcome to Natin Spicy Garden

The garden is located in the Southern Thai province Krabi in the village Ao Nang with beaches at the Andaman Sea.
The garden is a plot of ca 7000 m², surrounded by nice steep mountains mostly with caves (old coral reefs).

The garden is for people interested in plants and products made from these plants.
In this garden you can see living plants you use perhaps daily as for example:

• Spices like:
  • black pepper
  • ginger-like spices as ginger, curcuma, galanga
  • Cayenne and Spanish pepper or Chili peppers
• Tropical fruits like
  • pineapple
  • papaya
  • mango
  • cashew nut
  • jack fruit
• Tropical and Thai vegetables like:
  • water spinach
  • long beans
  • sweet potatoes,
  • sesame seed plants
• Plants that have other uses such as:
• Medicinal plants and plants of local ethnobotanical interest
• Plants used in perfumes, soaps, herbal spa and in aroma therapy
• Plants used to make rubber and chewing gum
• Plants used in the production of leather, paper, plywood etc.
• Plants that are beautiful

Thai people do not make a big difference between food plants, spices and medicinal plant as Western people do today.
The Thai name for the garden is more according the Thai concept of edible plants that can be used as medicinal or spice.
Therefore we chosed as Thai name สวน สมุนไพร นาตีน ,pronounced as suan samunprai natin.
In western terms it should be translated as [a] garden [with] medicinal plants [in] Natin .
